Nautical Rules
Maritime NZ has a set of Maritime Rules which apply to recreational and commercial water activities in all of New Zealand's coastal and inland waters.
Scouts NZ has a comprehensive nautical safe operation plan contained in the Water Activity Rules which cover water based activities. Maritime NZ has approved this plan and have granted Scouts NZ an exemption from compliance from some of the Maritime Rules.
Regional Councils have Navigation Safety bylaws for the waters in their jurisdiction.
